How to remove vocals from a song
- Download VocalErase from the App Store and open it. There is no sign-up.
- Tap “Choose an audio file” and pick an MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A or OGG track (up to 50 MB and 8 minutes).
- Keep “Vocals + Instrumental” selected and tap Separate. The credit cost is shown before you start.
- Preview both files in the app, then download or share the instrumental and the acapella as MP3s.
What you get
- Instrumental — the song without the lead vocal, for karaoke, covers and practice.
- Vocals (acapella) — the isolated voice, for remixing, sampling or studying a performance.
- High-quality 320 kbps MP3 files you can preview before you download.
How good are the results?
VocalErase uses an AI source-separation model. On most modern recordings the vocal comes out clean, but dense mixes or heavy reverb can leave faint traces of the voice in the instrumental, and backing vocals may end up in either file. Results also depend on the quality of the source file, so start from the best version you have.
Pricing: credits, no subscription
One credit removes the vocals from a song of up to 4 minutes; songs up to 8 minutes cost 2. New accounts start with free credits that cover this split. Buy a credit pack only when you need more — credits never expire, and a failed separation is refunded automatically.
Need more than vocals and instrumental?
Split the same song into up to 6 parts — drums, bass, guitar and piano — with the stem splitter, or turn it into a backing track with the karaoke maker.
